Las fuerzas armadas

Yesterday, the kindergarten classes at International School Tegucigalpa visited las fuerzas armadas, or the armed forces, of Honduras. The trip was really fun and the soldiers were friendly and enthusiastic.

We had tickets to the gun show. Of course, one of the kids stood directly in the line of fire.
 Helping kids into the tank.

Discussing politics and the issues of the day.

The view from the military base was actually very beautiful.
We rode on an army truck! Best hay ride ever.

Alas, no room for teachers. We clung to the side of the truck.

"Multipurpose tower." I'm assuming it's used for trained and such.

Another duty assigned to the Honduran military is reforestation. So, the soldiers tend to budding trees until they plant them around the city and the surrounding areas.
We visited the Military Academy of Honduras as well. The writing in the picture reads, "Excellence begins here."

Things got a bit chaotic at snack time.

Training time. Being surrounded by a bunch of fit and uniformed Latino men was just terrible.

Remember this whole thing in gym? He makes it look pretty easy. Not what I remember. . .

The soldiers did a demonstration for us on the obstacle course.  Honduran wedding tonight! Chao.
